    MY NINTH MONTH BLOGGING REPORT

    Hey guys!

    Back with another report!

If you're new to my blogging reports: hi, I'm Bianka and this is my "food blog experiment" series where every month I set new blogging goals and then report back the results to keep track of how my new food blog is growing!

Here are my previous blogging reports: month zero, first month, second month, third month, fourth month, fifth month, sixth + seventh month, eighth month.

    Let’s get started!

    🗒 JUNE BLOGGING GOALS REVIEW

    • 15k pageviews – Almost there!!!! Dang it! 14254 pageviews
    • Post 1 recipe/week for a total of 4 recipes – SUCCESS!
    • Get 4 links published – SUCCESS!
    • 250k monthly viewers on Pinterest – SUCCESS!
    • Batch more content – SUCCESS!

    📊 GOOGLE ANALYTICS

    June Blogging Report

My goal was to reach 15k pageviews but I hit 14254… I could have hit 15k had I done some promotion on Facebook but I didn’t so that’s what I get for skipping that lol.

Generally speaking, I’m really happy with the results because I got all greens in my GA report! 🙂

    📊 TRAFFIC

    June Blogging Report

Here are some pie charts! 🙂

I’m surprised by the growth in social traffic because the only socials I have are Instagram and Pinterest and I haven’t been posting on any of them, so it’s all passive growth.

I’m also surprised by the minimal growth in organic traffic: I thought the growth was way more significant than 1%.  I’m happy with it though. Organic traffic brings in over 30% of my readers every month which I think it’s a pretty good number for a 9 month old blog.

I sometimes forget I’m not a million-dollar blogger that’s been blogging for 7 years lol. What I do to keep myself grounded is reading blogging reports from fellow bloggers to see where they’re at. Comparison can easily turn into the thief of joy but I use it as an assessment and motivational tool and it works for me.

    💸 AFFILIATE MARKETING

I received my acceptance email from Amazon ⏤ big YAY!!!!

If you read my previous previous blogging report, you know I was convinced I wasn’t gonna meet their “3 sales within 180 days” requirement and I was gonna get kicked out. This happens to many bloggers.

In May, I decided to check my Amazon Associates account and I found out I had met their requirement (and more)!

In June, I got the email so I’ve been focusing on affiliate marketing as well!

I don’t have any formal training in it but it’s slowly picking up and I have a 4.02% conversion rate so far which is HUGE! So grateful! 🙂

    📊 SOCIAL MEDIA

    Uncomfortable update…!

I haven’t been active on social media, like, *at all*.

No pinning on Pinterest and no Instagram whatsoever. I’m aware it’s not the best choice but I’ve been focusing on organic growth, batching content, and developing recipes.

    Pinterest

I’d like to do Pinterest but Pinterest has decided to really act up and tons of (big) bloggers have been shadowbanned, caught up in spam filters, etc. overnight. When reaching out to Pinterest, they all keep getting a premade reply that isn’t helping anyone.

I think my account may be caught up in this whole thing too because my fresh pins get 10 impressions in 4-5 days when I used to get thousands of impressions overnight. Yikes.

    Instagram

Growing on Instagram is extremely difficult unless you already have 70k-90k followers. In that case, if you do have a skill or a talent, a good amount of people will see that, like, save, share your post and you’ll easily end up in the explore page and you can lay back and expect 1k-2k followers a day. I know from experience, this ain’t my first rodeo.

On the other side, if you’re just starting out, you can climb mount Everest and come back with the best content ever… you just won’t get pushed. This is discouraging and I’ve gone down discouragement lane when it comes to Instagram.

    👆🏻JULY BLOGGING GOALS

    • 20k pageviews.
    • Post 1 recipe/week for a total of 4 recipes.
    • Get 4 links published.
    • 300k monthly viewers on Pinterest.
    • Focus on affiliate marketing.

That's all for my ninth month blogging!

Thank you to each and every one of you that comes back for these reports or takes the time to leave ratings and reviews on my recipes!

    xo,

    Bianka
