Feel better with this hot Lemon Ginger Cinnamon Tea made with simple ingredients and perfect for when you’re feeling a bit under the weather!

Lemon Ginger Cinnamon Tea
This is my go-to drink whenever I crave something comforting and warming. It’s simple, uses fresh ingredients and is ready in just a few minutes!
This Lemon Ginger Cinnamon Tea is:
- Light, warming, and fragrant.
- Perfect for cold weather!
- Ready in 10 minutes.
- Made from scratch with simple ingredients.
- Healthy and flavorful!

Ingredients
Lemon or limes. I’m a total lime girl so I like using limes but both work for this drink. Lemons give you a gentler flavor and round out the spiciness in ginger a bit more, limes will give you a sharper drink!
Ginger, fresh. Cleaned and peeled. You can grate it or just chop it. I usually make this drink whenever I’m feeling under the weather so I like making it quite spicy but I’ll add both the spicy and mild option in the recipe card down below!
Cinnamon. I like using whole cinnamon because you can let it infuse in the water then remove it which works better for drinks but you can also use ground cinnamon, you might have to mix a bit more (it tends to clump up) and strain the tea for a smooth texture.
Sweetener: use your favorite or skip! Honey will give you a more soothing tea so it’s perfect if you’re making this because you feel under the weather. I also love brown sugar or panela for a deeper flavor. You can also leave sweeteners out, it’s a bit sharper in flavor but still good (and I’m usually all for adding sugar hehe)!
Water, as a base for the drink hehe!

Variations
I like keeping my tea plain but if you ever feel like jazzing it up, here are some ideas!
🍊 Orange: Add orange peel or a splash of freshly-squeezed orange for a softer, sweeter tea!
🍎 Apple: Add a few slices of apple for a cozier fall tea!
☕️ Spiced: Add 2-3 cloves, 1-2 lightly crushed cardamom pods or a dash of black pepper.
🌿 Herbal: Add a few leaves of mint, lemongrass or a dash of turmeric.
❄️ Iced: Simply allow to cool down a bit before adding ice. It’s perfect for hot weather but a little less cozier. You can also top it with sparkling water for more fun hehe!
Storing and Reheating Instructions
Storing Instructions: Store tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
Reheating Instructions: Reheat in a saucepan over medium-low heat until hot or microwave until hot. Do not boil or the citrus flavor will fade.

HAPPY COOKING!! I hope you'll love this Lemon Ginger Cinnamon Tea Recipe as much as I do!

Lemon Ginger Cinnamon Tea
Ingredients
- 2 cups (500 ml) water
- 1 inch (2.5 cm) ginger (chopped or grated, I like adding 2 inches or about 5 cm for a bolder tea with some spice but I recommend 1 inch if you prefer a milder tea)
- 1 stick cinnamon (or 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon)
- 2-3 tbsp (30-45 ml) lemon juice or lime juice (about 1/2 lemon or 2 small limes)
- Sweetener of choice (optional) (I like 1-2 tablespoon of honey, brown sugar or panela but any sweetener works or you can skip it)
Instructions
- Add the water, ginger, and cinnamon to a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and allow to simmer for 5-10 minutes. Turn off the heat, discard the cinnamon stick and whole ginger or strain (if using grated ginger or ground cinnamon). Add in the lemon juice and sweetener, mix and enjoy!
