Sour Cream Dressing
This is our favorite Sour Cream Dressing recipe because it’s so quick and easy to make and has a deliciously creamy texture that clings to every bite without being heavy or sweet like some dressings!
This Sour Cream Dressing is:
- Made with just 4 simple ingredients!
- Quick and easy to whip up!
- Creamy without being heavy.
- Tangy and refreshing, perfect for summer!

Ingredients
Sour cream, of course!
Lime juice (or lemon juice or vinegar), limes or lemons will make the dressing lighter with a brighter flavor, cutting through the richness of sour cream. Vinegar also works but it’ll give you a sharper flavor!
Oil, you can use olive oil or any vegetable oil you like.
Mustard, yellow or Dijon, for flavor.
Water, to thin out, optional.
Salt and pepper.

Variations
Herby: Add 1 tablespoon minced cilantro (or parsley, or dills, or chives). We love this sour cream dressing with cilantro, peep our favorite Coleslaw with Sour Cream hehe!
Honey Mustard: Add 1 or 2 teaspoon honey.
Spicy: Add a dash of cayenne or some chili flakes.
Garlic: Add 1-2 cloves fresh garlic (minced or grated) or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder.
Storing Instructions
Store any leftover dressing tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. If adding fresh garlic or herbs, store for up to 2-3 days.
