The Best 4 Ingredient Guacamole Recipe

    Hey guys!

Today I’m sharing with you this quick and easy 4 Ingredient Guacamole Recipe!

You can use this as a dip for tortilla chips (great appetizer idea) or as a dip or ingredient for tacos, burritos, and quesadillas.

It’s also a great breakfast option, served along with sausage or spam, eggs, and rice! 🙂

    Let’s make it!

    quick easy guacamole recipe

What is the best type of avocados for guacamole?

Hass avocados are considered the best for guacamole because they’re very creamy and rich! But of course, any avocado will work 🙂 .

You can easily spot Hass avocados as they’re smaller with a wrinkly dark green peel that turns dark purple/black once they’re ripe.

How do you pick an avocado for guacamole?

When picking an avocado, ask yourself when do you plan on eating it. This way you’ll avoid ending up with hard or rotten avocados when it’s time to use them!

How to pick an avocado ready to eat in 1-2 days: select a dark green (almost dark purple) avocado. Apply very gentle pressure to the avocado, it should be somewhat firm but not hard. Keep it uncovered at room temperature and it’ll be ready in 1-2 days.

How to pick an avocado ready to eat in 3-4 days: select a green avocado. Apply very gentle pressure to the avocado, it should be hard. Keep it uncovered at room temperature and it’ll be ready in 3-4 days.

What keeps guacamole from turning brown?

Fresh lemon or lime juice. Peel and pit the avocados, add them to a bowl, and immediately add the lemon or lime juice. Mash and mix well!

If you plan on letting your guacamole sit for a few hours, please cover it with plastic wrap, with the plastic wrap directly pressed on top of the guacamole and up over the sides of the bowl to keep air from coming into contact with the avocado.

    How to store guacamole

Guacamole is best eaten fresh but if you do have leftovers, cover them with plastic, with the plastic wrap directly pressed on top of the guacamole and up over the sides of the bowl to keep air from coming into contact with the guac.

Store it in the refrigerator for up to 1-2 days.

I personally recommend sticking to just overnight as avocados tend to turn brown over time, no matter how well you store them. While brown guacamole is still safe to eat, it can look unappetizing and take on a slightly bitter note.
