Garlic Butter Green Beans
Today I’m sharing with you this quick and easy side: Garlic Butter Green Beans!
This dish is ready in just 10 minutes and really takes green beans to a whole another level: they’re perfectly tender, coated in melted butter and sauteed with fresh garlic!
Comforting and rich but it still counts as eating greens, right?!

Ingredients
- Butter. I recommend unsalted butter so you can have more control on the amount of salt.
- Green beans. You want to pre-cook the green beans for a few minutes before sauteing so they will cook and saute to perfection!
- Garlic. Stick to garlic cloves for this recipe. Garlic is one of the main ingredients so please don’t use powder or flakes.

Garlic Butter Green Beans
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup (62 ml) water for pre-cooking the green beans
- 1 lb (453 g) green beans washed, ends trimmed
- 3/4 tsp coarse salt or to taste
- 2 and 1/2 tbsp (17 g) unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- Freshly-cracked black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Add the water and beans to a pre-heated large pan placed over medium-high heat. Bring the water to a boil and cook for 3 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the butter and melt over medium-high heat. Once the butter has melted completely, add the green beans to the pan and saute for about a minute while moving them around to ensure even sauteing.
- Add the minced garlic and pepper, saute for another 30 seconds. Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary. Serve immediately.
